Mr. Adams is a commercial litigator specializing in complex insurance coverage disputes. He has represented insurance companies in multi-million dollar insurance coverage disputes, particularly in the areas of environmental claims, construction defects, advertising injury, and bad faith. He defended a national life insurance company in federal multi-district litigation, numerous individual lawsuits, and state and national class action lawsuits against allegations brought against it by policyholders who alleged that they were defrauded in the purchase of their policies. He also has defended an insurance company in individual lawsuits and federal multi-district litigation against claims brought on surety bonds relating to a business that proved to be a fraudulent Ponzi scheme.

In addition, Mr. Adams has represented business clients in a wide variety of lawsuits involving alleged fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference with contracts, tortious interference with economic relations, trademark infringement, premises liability, invasion of privacy, and the breach of commercial contracts.

Prior to joining Morison Holden Derewetzky & Prough LLP, Mr. Adams practiced with the firms of Morrison & Foerster and Sonnenschein Nath and Rosenthal in their respective San Francisco offices.

Before his admittance to law school, Mr. Adams worked for the government of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in its Medicaid program where he investigated alleged fraud by physicians, dentists, and pharmacies and drafted state policies.

Mr. Adams is licensed to practice in the State of California. He has been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of California and its Litigation Section and is a member of the American Bar Association and its Litigation Section.
